I'd say there's some pretty good choices to pick from

HSV VF GTS. From those, the McLaren P1.

Jaguar CX-75 and Jaguar F-Type Coupe. Jag has stepped their game up. Great cars.

Those mad Italian bastards have done it again. The Interrogator_Chaplain 2013 Car of the Year is the Lamborghini Veneno.

I tend to think a small-ish car with potential for wide diffusion is more important than supercars no one can afford.
So here's my choice:
I like it and I want to see more of those. As I said, supercars are nice, but a small, nice driving hatchback lots of people can -and should- buy is more important to my eyes.

Stingray. No doubt in my mind.

The M4 and stingray aren't too out of reach. Especially in 5 or 6 years on the used market

True. The new Fiestas look much better in person than in pictures. Definitely in my list of "Favorite 2013 cars I could buy" after seeing one up close.

Well someone's gotta buy a new one so that I can buy a used one a couple of years from now!

Pshaw. Stop being so biased towards things we can maybe afford in our lifetimes.

From a European standpoint, they sort of are. Those cars are more expensive here -especially the 'vette-, and they often comes with some sort of tax load (in Belgium, registering a new 'vette costs about 14 000$, and it's similar in France or other countries).
Plus, don't forget good gas (premium) is often around 8$/ga here.

I certainly plan to be able to afford much more than a Fiesta ST. But no matter what, a 20 000$ car will reach to a much wider public.
